"We still zone very locally, but it didn't make sense to have a building so close to our other buildings," said Peter York, the Times' publisher. Zoning refers to the seven editions produced by the paper. The newspaper's main office is in Escondido; the company also bases staff in buildings in Oceanside and Temecula. A doctor bought the Times' 2,900-square foot building on 950 Escondido Avenue in Vista and plans to reconfigure it into medical offices and a clinic. Sales price was $910,000. Bill Effinger and Chuck Gizoni with Hanson Commercial Group in Escondido represented the seller; Nilo Sepehri with Prudential California Realty in Rancho Bernardo represented the buyer.
